In recent news, Senator John Kerry made a comment that is largely
being misunderstood by radio talk show hosts. Some times, people simply say
things that they aren’t real clear about. It is time to make sure that
the message that John Kerry made is clarified, so that people are not as
upset.
As a retired Marine, having served 21 years in the service of our
country, I was upset when I first heard this statement from John Kerry, but after considering what it was that he *really* wanted to get across, I am still upset, just not as much…
“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and
you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you
can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”
There is a hidden meaning in this statement that most people just
don’t comprehend or have been slow to pick up on. Let me see if my small and infinitesimal enlisted
brain can figure this out and put it in terms that the rest of you may understand.
What I think John Kerry was saying is this.. [QUOTE] You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. [See, I went to school to get an education, but not being
very smart and not applying myself to my studies, I didn’t do so well. As a
result, stupid ol’ me, I had to get out of school, as the school I was
in refused to keep teaching stupid people, and go into the military.] If you [are like me and] don’t [apply
yourself, then you will wind up just like me], you get stuck in [Viet Nam].[END
QUOTE]
See John Kerry went to school, but for this most logical of reasons, wound up in
Viet Nam. Based on his statement, you can only assume that he is
speaking from personal experience. So when you aren’t smart, as he
obviously wasn't/isn’t, then you wind up in war.
While it still upsets me that he would classify himself with the
other members of the military who are very significantly smarter and more intelligent than he is, I can
understand that when someone of little intelligence speaks, that they
often times omit words and do not speak as clearly as someone who has had a proper education
and applied themselves in school, as most of the volunteer military
has done.
It there any doubt why people hold people in the military in such high regard, and think that being a member of Congress is one of
the worst jobs a person could ever have?
Challenge to Senator John Kerry…
Since you believe that many Republicans are STICK MEN and only
people who who served in the military are real men, then my challenge
to you is this… name a time, date, and place where we real men can
debate. Oh wait a minute….I can’t do that. See, I can make the same
kind of stupid statement that you made. If you didn’t serve your
country for 20 or more years OR get discharged because you were
physically handicapped as a result of war injuries, then you aren’t a
real man or woman. Beside which, debating with a liberal from
Massachusetts would be like me going to war against an unarmed
combatant. And as the LIBERAL John McCain can attest to, it just isn't fair to fight someone who isn't armed.
Here is something that you should learn…my personal favorite quote:
“Never argue with someone stupid. First, they drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.”
And if anyone in this country has experience at being stupid, it is the Senator from Massachusetts, Senator John Kerry.
Maybe one other good quote...
There is a fix for almost everything in this world, except that you just can't fix STUPID.
